Background:

  • Rotator cuff repair (RCT) is a common procedure for rotator cuff tears.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To systematically review and meta-analyze risk factors for PSS following RCT.
  • To provide an evidence-based foundation for clinical practice regarding PSS prevention and management.

  • Comprehensive literature search across PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases.

  • Multiple factors contribute to PSS after RCT.
  • Advanced age, female sex, diabetes, thyroid disease, and workers' compensation are identified as high-risk factors.
  • Emphasizes comprehensive preoperative evaluation and individualized perioperative management, particularly for high-risk individuals.
