Abstract:
Linderasesterterpenoids C-H (1-6), six novel sesterterpenoids featuring an unprecedented 7-cyclohexyldecahydroazulene carbon skeleton, were isolated from the root of Lindera glauca (L. glauca). Their structures were elucidated by quantum chemical calculations and spectroscopic methods. In the bioassay, linderasesterterpenoid C (1) exhibited inhibitory activity against lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 cells compared to a positive control. Western blot analysis further indicated that compound 1 decreased the level of pro-inflammatory enzymes, inducible NO synthase.
