Primary malignant melanoma of the bladder: A rare case report

This report discusses a rare case of primary malignant melanoma of the bladder in a 71-year-old woman, presenting with dysuria, urinary frequency, and hematuria. A pedunculated mass at the urethral meatus was found, and an 8 cm exophytic bladder lesion was identified via ultrasound. Cystoscopy and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. Despite a radical cystectomy, the patient passed away two months later. This case highlights a rare example of primary urinary bladder melanoma illustrating the value of an integrated clinical, imaging, and pathological approach in establishing the diagnosis and guide therapy of this rare but poorly behaved entity.
