Perylene is a fundamental building block in organic functional materials. While numerous studies have functionalized its armchair edges with various subunits, the incorporation of silole rings at these edges has remained elusive. Silole is widely recognized as a key structural component in high-performance organic electronic materials. In this study, we successfully synthesized two novel silole-embedded perylene derivatives, featuring either a benzylamino group or a quaternary ammonium salt at the peri positions. These derivatives demonstrate enhanced properties, such as tight molecular packing, excellent water solubility, high fluorescence quantum yield, and narrowed band gaps, laying the foundation for potential applications.
