Summary

Bone-anchored facemasks (BAFM) and miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expanders with facemask (MARPE/FM) offer superior orthopedic effects for maxillary protraction compared to rapid palatal expanders with facemask (RPE/FM). MARPE/FM also effectively prevents maxillary molar movement.
