Comparative Evaluation of Apically Extruded Debris Using Two Rotary and Two Reciprocating File Systems: An In Vitro

Aim:
The research aimed to quantify, evaluate, and compare the amount of apically extruded debris in 80 extracted mandibular premolars using two rotary and reciprocating file systems.
Materials And Method:
Rotary and reciprocating single files were employed to instrument root canals. Debris was collected using Eppendorf tubes, and an analytical microbalance was used to ascertain the average weight of debris.
Results:
While there was no discernible difference among the two groups, data demonstrated that reciprocating file systems generated significantly higher quantities of debris in contrast to continuous rotation group file systems.
Conclusion:
As per data from the study, all four file systems generated measurable amounts of apically extruded debris; however, reciprocating file systems produced noticeably greater cell debris than continuous rotation file systems.
