Background:
Photogrammetry offers superior accuracy and passive fit in full-arch implant prosthodontics, yet its awareness and clinical adoption remain limited in many regions.
Aim:
To assess the awareness, utilization, and perceptions of photogrammetry among prosthodontists, implant practitioners, and postgraduate students.
Materials And Methods:
A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 250 dental professionals across India using a structured, pre-validated questionnaire. Data was collected regarding demographic details, clinical experience, awareness, usage, perceived advantages, barriers, and willingness to adopt photogrammetry in practice.
Results:
Among 250 respondents, 62% were aware of photogrammetry, while only 14% had used it clinically. The majority perceived it as superior in accuracy and fit for full-arch implant restorations. Cost and lack of training were the most cited barriers. Over 70% expressed interest in workshops or training, and 85% felt it should be included in the postgraduate curriculum.
Conclusion:
While awareness of photogrammetry is growing, its clinical utilization remains low due to cost and limited training opportunities. Greater emphasis on continuing education and curricular integration may enhance adoption of this promising technology.
