Photoinduced Peroxide-Mediated Minisci-Type Silylation of N-Heteroarenes

Abstract:
Herein, we report a visible-light-mediated Minisci-type silylation of N-heteroarenes using silanes or silanecarboxylic acids. This method enables direct coupling of various silicon radical with diverse N-heteroaromatic rings, yielding products in good yields. The protocol demonstrates excellent functional group tolerance and proves particularly valuable for late-stage functionalization of drug derivatives. Furthermore, we successfully extended this methodology to the synthesis of important bipyridine and terpyridine ligands, highlighting its versatility in complex molecule construction.
