Summary

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) can cause area postrema syndrome (APS), leading to severe neurological symptoms like intractable nausea and vomiting. Early diagnosis and treatment with corticosteroids and IL-6 inhibitors can resolve APS and its underlying GCA cause.
