Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the surgical treatment of choice for large renal stones. Various complications have been reported following the PCNL technique. An infrequent yet severe surgical complication associated with PCNL is biliary peritonitis resulting from gallbladder injury during the procedure.
