Abstract:
Three palladium(II) porphyrin complexes with different substituents were synthesised in order to systematically investigate their structures, electronic properties and photosensitising performance. All three complexes exhibit typical non-aromatic characteristics, with maximum absorption wavelengths ranging from 500 to 510 nm. Palladium(II) porphyrin(2.2.1.1) complexes containing nitro groups at the benzo units demonstrated 1O2 and O2˙- generation capabilities under blue and red light irradiation, with significantly higher activities than complexes containing nitro groups at the meso-positions.
