Cardiovascular diseases are leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States and globally. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD), such as coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular disease, cause a majority of cardiovascular disease deaths. The treatment of elevated atherogenic lipoproteins is a key aspect of efforts to reduce the risk of ASCVD. The identification of novel targets that may influence ASCVD risk has contributed to efforts to develop new therapeutics. Dr. Michael H. Davidson and Dr. Kevin C.
