Precise heteroatom engineering for iodine capture promotion in porous organic cages
Abstract:
Three isostructural POCs (O/S/SePOC) have been prepared. Under precise heteroatom engineering, SePOC exhibits the best iodine adsorption ability compared to OPOC and SPOC with a value of 4.43 g g-1, which also exceeds most other molecular materials. SePOC was also fabricated as a thin film sensor for the first time to detect iodine vapor with a fast detection rate and high reusability.

Regioselectivity and Stereochemistry of Hydroboration
Hydroboration proceeds in a concerted fashion with the attack of borane on the π bond, giving a cyclic four-centered transition state. The –BH2 group is bonded to the less substituted carbon and –H to the more substituted carbon. The concerted nature requires the simultaneous addition of –H and –BH2 across the same face of the alkene giving syn stereochemistry.
