Complete chloroplast genome of Cephalanthera erecta (Thunb.) Blume (Orchidaceae) and its phylogenetic analysis
1Zhejiang Academy of Forestry, Hangzhou, China.
Abstract:
We report the chloroplast (cp) genome of Cephalanthera erecta (Thunb.) Blume, a terrestrial orchid endemic to East Asia, to clarify its phylogenetic relationship. The 162,011 bp genome has a typical quadripartite structure: a large single-copy (LSC: 88,944 bp), a small single-copy (SSC: 19,177 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs: 26,945 bp). Annotation identified 135 genes, including 88 mRNAs, 38 tRNAs, eight rRNAs, and one pseudogene. Phylogenetic analysis places C. erecta in a well-supported clade with C. longibracteata, C. falcata, and C. nanchuanica, confirming their close evolutionary relationship. This findings provide genomic resources, clarifies its phylogenetic position, aiding conservation and evolutionary studies of East Asian orchids.
