A bacterial detection strategy combining CBT-Cys click ligation with enzyme-assisted amplification was fabricated. Padlock probe circularization and phi29-mediated amplification enabled multivalent aptamer generation for E. coli capture. Subsequently, β-galactosidase was released for producing p-aminophenol, and E. coli was detected sensitively by PEC.
