Abstract:
The basic leucine zipper ATF-like transcription factor (BATF) family, comprising BATF, BATF2, and BATF3, functions as a cellular transcription factor and plays key roles in many biological responses. The BATF family is involved in immune cell proliferation, differentiation, and exhaustion, highlighting its close association with the tumor immune microenvironment. This review explored how the BATF family regulates various signaling pathways and cytokines in the tumor microenvironment, thereby participating in tumor occurrence, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, and discussed the potential of targeting the BATF family for tumor treatment. Taken together, the BATF family emerges as an important regulator of tumor immunity with potential relevance as biomarkers or therapeutic targets.
