Summary

For gastric outlet obstruction in advanced pancreatic cancer, endoscopic stenting offers faster recovery but needs more procedures. Gastrojejunostomy is more durable, while EUS-guided gastroenterostomy shows promise but needs more study in this specific cancer.

Background:

Gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) is a common complication in locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC).
Management options include endoscopic duodenal stenting (EDS), gastrojejunostomy (GJ), and EUS-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE).
Optimal management strategy for GOO in LAPC remains debated.

Conclusions:

Each intervention for GOO in LAPC presents distinct advantages and disadvantages.
EDS offers speed, GJ offers durability, and EUS-GE shows potential for high efficacy with low re-intervention.
Further comparative studies are essential to guide personalized treatment decisions for GOO in LAPC.
