Here, we propose a valveless nanopump model, featuring a two-dimensional graphene slit that can only accommodate a single layer of water molecules. Using molecular dynamics simulations, we demonstrate the feasibility of inducing water transport via mechanical vibrations at the slit entrance, even in the absence of a pressure difference. Simulation results indicate that the vibrational energy of the graphene plane can be converted into kinetic energy for water molecules within the nano slit, resulting in directed water flow. The water flow is dependent sensitively on the vibration frequency. Unlike previous one-dimensional systems, we observe that nanoscale vortices form within the two-dimensional slit when the frequency exceeds a specific threshold. The emergence of the vortices impedes the directed transport of water, consequently leading to a reduction in the efficiency of the water pump. Our findings provide valuable insights into the development of two-dimensional valveless nanopump.
