Abstract:
A heterojunction photocatalyst, NiMoO4/Mg-Al layered-double hydroxide (LDH), was synthesized for simultaneous chloramphenicol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction under visible light. It outperformed individual components (NMO, LDH) and composites, maintaining >90% efficiency over five cycles. Synergy involved ˙OH/O2--mediated chloramphenicol oxidation and direct electron transfer for Cr(VI) reduction, confirmed by LC-MS and scavenger studies.
