Synthesis and characterization of a low-valent uranium complex supported by a redox-active molybdenum oxide

Abstract:
Investigation of the reactivity of the redox-active molybdenum oxide cluster, , toward low-valent uranium (, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) is reported. Structural and spectroscopic analyses provide insight into the interactions of the actinide and metalloligand in the product, . Reactivity studies reveal the metalloligand functions as a redox reservoir for uranium.
