The photocatalytic reduction of CO2 into valuable chemical fuels represents a promising approach to addressing global energy demands and climate change. In this study, InVO4-based catalysts were synthesized, and their CO2 reduction performance was evaluated in a solid-gas phase system. The InVO4 hollow microspheres demonstrated significantly higher average production rates of CO and CH4 compared to the InVO4 solid microsphere and InVO4 SSR. The superior activity stems from the hollow structure, which enhances CO2 adsorption and light harvesting via internal scattering. Its shell of tightly packed nanoparticles further facilitates charge transfer and suppresses recombination, collectively increasing electron availability and accelerating CO2 reduction kinetics.
