JC Polyomavirus (JCPyV) infection inhibits BK Polyomavirus (BKPyV) replication in kidney transplant recipients, potentially through viral microRNAs. JCPyV microRNA jcv-miR-J1-5p specifically reduces BKPyV TAg expression, limiting BKPyV infectivity.
