Abstract:
The design and fabrication of effective nano composites for organic pollutant degradation is a promising strategy for advancing environmental remediation. In this regard, semiconductor-based photocatalysis has emerged as a viable approach to environmental cleanup. The ternary Bi2S3/FeWO4/CoS2nanocomposite was synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal process. The prepared nanocomposite was characterized using various analytical techniques, including XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDX, TEM, XPS, and UV-DRS spectroscopy. The as-prepared Bi2S3/FeWO4/CoS2 nanocomposite exhibited a higher degradation efficiency of 97.1% for MB aqueous dye solutions under visible light irradiation. According to the results of the radical trapping experiment, OH• radicals are the main radicals for the degradation of MB. A potential photocatalytic mechanism for Bi2S3/FeWO4/CoS2 nanocomposite was proposed. These results exhibited that the synthesized nanocomposites are a potential candidate for the organic pollutant degradation and environmental remediation.
