When T cells with CD4 markers are activated, they give rise to two types of effector cells: helper T cells and regulatory T cells.   • To evaluate periodontal parameters and inflammatory markers (TNF-α, IL-17A, YKL-40) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and serum.

  • Sixty participants were categorized into healthy controls, periodontitis, and psoriasis with periodontitis groups.
  • Periodontal indices (PI, BOP, PD, CAL) were assessed.

  • Periodontal parameters were significantly worse in both periodontitis groups compared to controls.

Conclusions:

  • Elevated inflammatory markers suggest a potential link between systemic inflammation in psoriasis and local inflammation in periodontitis.
