Elevated lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) is a significant risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). High Lp(a) levels correlate with earlier ASCVD onset, and normal LDL-C does not rule out high Lp(a).

- Increasing Lp(a) levels correlated with increased ASCVD prevalence and decreased age of ASCVD onset.
Conclusions:
- Distinct clinical characteristics are associated with different Lp(a) levels.
- Elevated Lp(a) is linked to increased ASCVD risk and earlier onset.
- Normal LDL-C levels cannot exclude the presence of highly elevated Lp(a).
