Summary
A novel magnetic extractor safely removed intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs) from the posterior eye segment. This minimally invasive technique improved vision and reduced complications in two patients undergoing pars plana vitrectomy (PPV).
Area of Science:
- Ophthalmology
- Ocular Surgery
- Medical Devices
Background:
- Intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs) pose significant challenges in ocular surgery.
- Posterior segment IOFB removal often requires complex procedures.
