Abstract:
A patent is a legal document that grants the holder exclusive rights to an invention for a certain number of years. Patents play an important role in dentistry by allowing dental professionals to protect their innovative ideas and products. A dental professional can prevent others from using, making, or selling a similar invention without permission by obtaining a patent. This provides an incentive for innovation in the field and can help ensure that new dental products and techniques are developed for the benefit of patients. Obtaining a patent for dental procedure-related inventions is an important step for inventors to protect their ideas and prevent others from using or selling them without permission.
