Abstract:
Reported herein is a photocatalytic hydro-fluorosulfonylation of thioalkynes to access FSO2-substituted vinyl sulfides with broad substrate scope and high stereoselectivity. Our straightforward approach proceeds via a shuttle hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) sequence, effectively suppressing the competing atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) pathway. The resulting vinyl sulfonyl fluorides serve as versatile synthetic hubs for various downstream transformations, as well as potent antifungal agents against plant pathogens.
