Non-Invasive Blood Oxygen Level Monitoring Using Bio-Impedance
Abstract:
The oxygen saturation level in the blood is a critical vital sign, often measured non-invasively. However, current non-invasive methods are limited to pulse oximeters and can yield inaccurate results if not used or interpreted correctly. This study explores a novel method for measuring blood oxygen levels using bio-impedance technology. We developed a bio-impedance sensor to detect variations in the electrical properties of blood and established a correlation between these changes and oxygen saturation levels. Controlled breathing experiments were conducted to induce variations in oxygen saturation, followed by a comparative analysis of bio-impedance-derived measurements and standard pulse oximeter readings. Results demonstrated a strong correlation between the two methods, validating the accuracy and reliability of bio-impedance-based monitoring. Our findings establish a comprehensive framework for non-invasive oxygen saturation assessment using bio-impedance technology. This approach has the potential to enhance current monitoring techniques and offer a promising pathway for future advancements in both clinical and non-clinical applications.
