Heart Rate Variability in Multi-Domain Signal Analysis: A Study on Measuring the Average Similarity Rate between the
None:
This research focuses on measuring the Average Similarity Rate (ASR) between R-R intervals in time and frequency domains for heart rate variability (HRV) analysis. The study proposes a methodology using thresholding for R-peak detection and extraction of R-R intervals. The ASR is calculated in both time and frequency domains to provide a comprehensive analysis of cardiac function. The method was tested on 62 ECG samples from the Physio Bank archives. Results show that most subjects have normal HRV, with high ASR levels in the time domain. Frequency domain analysis revealed some variability, with most subjects showing ASR between 90% to 95%. Importantly, 40 subjects demonstrated analogous ASR in both domains, while 22 exhibited fluctuations, primarily showing lower ASR in the frequency domain. In general, the proposed ASR methodology offers a promising tool for cardiovascular health monitoring.

Correlation between ECG and Cardiac Cycle
A cardiac action potential originates in the SA node and spreads throughout the atria and the AV node in approximately 0.03 seconds. This results in the P wave in an ECG and triggers atrial contraction. The action potential is then briefly slowed at the AV node, allowing the atria to contract and fill the ventricles with blood before...
