Assessment of the Fields Induced in the Human Body During Magnetotherapy Treatment of Lumbar Region
Abstract:
This paper deals with the assessment of induced current density and the induced electric field in the human body during the magnetotherapy procedure. The anatomical model of the body with uniform parameters is used to assess the induced fields due to magnetotherapy applicator positioned over the lumbar region. The mathematical formulation is based on the quasi-static eddy current approximation and the boundary integral equation approach treated by the method of moments. The numerical results for the induced fields in the human body are presented including the analysis of the effects of applicator various movements with respect to the human body.Clinical relevance-The results could be found useful for the medical professionals by providing the information on the distribution of the internal fields in the vicinity of treated region.
