[Hepatic and Peritoneal Histoplasmosis Simulating Another Pathology]

Histoplasmosis is the most frequent endemic systemic mycosis in Argentina. Most cases are asymptomatic or present mild respiratory manifestations, which resolve spontaneously; however, occasionally they present severe clinical forms when immunity is compromised. Although liver involvement in disseminated infection is well known, focal hepatic histoplasmosis is extremely rare. We present the case of a patient with focal granulomatous hepatitis and peritoneal involvement due to Histoplasma capsulatum simulating a primary liver neoplasm, who underwent surgery.
