Abstract:
PANoptosis is a novel form of cell death that integrates necroptosis, apoptosis, and pyroptosis, along with their crosstalk, mediated and regulated by the PANoptosome. This review focuses on bacterial PANoptosis, systematically summarizing through distinct pathways and virulence factors, and analyzing its role in inflammatory diseases. Furthermore, we discuss potential therapeutic interventions related to PANoptosis in bacterial inflammation, establishing a framework for novel anti-inflammatory drug development. Understanding the mechanisms of bacteria-induced PANoptosis may provide new strategies for targeted intervention in inflammatory responses to infection.
