The literature review analyzes modern concepts of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the relevance of timely detection of the disease. The possibilities of detecting the disease through parent-teacher questionnaires are considered. Age-related features of ADHD, gender differences are noted, the results of short-term and long-term courses of atomoxetine use are summarized, the results of randomized studies on the positive effect of the drug on the socialization of patients, academic performance and the possibility of correcting comorbid anxiety syndromes, autistic disorders and syncopal states are presented.
