Abstract:
The article provides an overview of domestic and foreign literature on the relevance of developing and implementing comprehensive medical and social methods for the prevention and treatment of gerontological pathologies. It examines the morphological and biochemical foundations of brain aging and presents methods for pharmacological correction of these changes. The use of the original domestic drug, the breadth of therapeutic effects of the drug ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate (Meksidol), based on its biochemical mechanisms of action, its high clinical efficacy, and the favorable safety profile of Meksidol in the absence of drug interactions, make its use promising in the comprehensive treatment of older patients.
