Community Based Intervention01:30

Community Based Intervention

260
Community-based interventions in mental health represent a paradigm shift from institution-centered care to treatments embedded within the fabric of local communities. By prioritizing inclusion and leveraging existing societal structures, this approach fosters a supportive environment conducive to addressing mental health challenges while promoting individual dignity and agency.

Self-Efficacy01:29

Self-Efficacy

178
Self-efficacy is the belief in one's capacity to organize and execute actions necessary to manage prospective situations. This belief significantly influences how individuals approach goals, tasks, and challenges across different domains of life.Psychological and Educational ImpactsIndividuals with strong self-efficacy are more resilient in the face of difficulties. They are more likely to adopt effective problem-solving strategies, persist through obstacles, and regulate emotions such as...

Inflammatory Bowel Disease III: Diagnostic Studies and Management I-Nutritional Therapy

617
Various diagnostic tests are employed in the diagnostic process for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), particularly to differentiate between Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Diagnostic studies
A colonoscopy is the definitive screening test, distinguishing ulcerative colitis from other colon diseases with similar symptoms. During a colonoscopy test, inflamed mucosa with exudate ulcerations can be observed, and biopsies are taken to determine the histologic characteristics of the...

Operant Conditioning Intervention01:24

Operant Conditioning Intervention

438
Operant conditioning serves as a foundational principle in therapeutic interventions aimed at modifying maladaptive behaviors. Central to this approach is the notion that behaviors, both adaptive and maladaptive, are learned through reinforcement. By analyzing the environmental factors that reinforce problematic behaviors, clinicians can design interventions to weaken these reinforcements and replace maladaptive behaviors with healthier alternatives.
In operant conditioning, behaviors that are...

Enteral Nutrition II: Nasointestinal and Gastrostomy Feeding

780
Enteral nutrition encompasses various methods of delivering nutrition directly to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, bypassing traditional oral intake. It is particularly beneficial for patients who cannot eat by mouth but have a functioning digestive system. Key methods include nasointestinal feeding, gastrostomy, and jejunostomy, each suited to different clinical scenarios based on the patient's needs and condition.

Self-Regulation01:25

Self-Regulation

199
Self-regulation, also known as self-control, encompasses a range of cognitive and behavioral processes that allow individuals to adjust their internal states and outward actions to align with socially acceptable norms and long-term goals. It plays a fundamental role in adaptive functioning, from resisting impulsive behaviors to persisting through challenging tasks. While its benefits are widely recognized, self-regulation is not limitless. Muraven and Baumeister's theory posits that...

Area of Science:

  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Nutritional Science
  • Behavioral Science

Background:

  • Complementary feeding is a critical developmental stage for infants.
  • Maternal education and counselling can influence infant feeding practices.
  • Parenting self-efficacy is linked to positive child health outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the impact of education and counselling on mothers' complementary feeding behaviors.
  • To assess the effect of these interventions on parenting self-efficacy in mothers of six-month-old infants.

Main Methods:

  • A randomized controlled trial involving 608 mothers and their six-month-old infants.
  • Intervention groups included Education + Counselling and Counselling only.
  • Data analyzed using SPSS Version 26.0.

Main Results:

  • The Education + Counselling group showed significantly higher scores on the Complementary Feeding Behaviour Scale (CFBS).
  • Mothers in the Education + Counselling group reported significantly higher parenting self-efficacy.
  • No significant sociodemographic differences were observed between groups.

Conclusions:

  • Combined education and counselling effectively enhance complementary feeding behaviors and maternal self-efficacy.
  • Health policies should promote initiatives supporting healthy infant feeding.
  • Online training offers a viable method for supporting complementary feeding practices.
