Objectives:
to construct, validate appearance and content, and test a simulated scenario for the development of communication and teamwork skills in nursing students.
Methods:
descriptive, methodological research, developed in three stages: scenario and checklist construction; scenario and checklist validity; and simulation validity. Data collection carried out between May 2020 and April 2021, after ethical approvals, with the participation of ten experts.
Results:
the scenario was called "Communication and teamwork in hospital environments". The checklist, composed of briefing, scenario in action, and debriefing, after Content Validity Index, ended with 28 items. Subsequently, the simulation was validated by monitoring the scenario's cinematography and the validated checklist.
Conclusion:
the scenario fulfilled the phases required for its creation and assessment, and can be used in the development of communication and teamwork in nursing students.
