Abstract:
A digital protocol for implant restoration with immediate functional interim delivery at second-stage surgery is presented. The workflow enables efficient recording by limiting scans to essential areas and allows the fabrication of interim restorations during the osseointegration period. At second-stage surgery, the interim restoration is delivered immediately, guiding peri-implant soft-tissue healing without a healing abutment. When no adjustment is required, the definitive restoration can be fabricated directly; if modifications are made, rescanning and data matching reproduce the adjusted morphology accurately. This digital approach streamlined the conventional 2-stage procedure, providing a more efficient and reproducible method for implant restoration in clinical practice.
