Background:

Extreme weather events necessitate advanced environmental monitoring.
Traditional methods can be costly and inaccessible in remote areas.
Developing low-cost, innovative monitoring solutions is crucial.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the feasibility of using internal tree temperature to assess weather parameters.
To develop an accessible environmental monitoring system using natural trees and embedded technology.
To evaluate the accuracy of machine learning models in interpreting tree temperature data for weather prediction.

Main Methods:

Implementing a low-cost embedded system to measure internal tree trunk temperature.
Applying multiscale decomposition techniques, specifically Discrete Wavelet Transform.
Utilizing machine learning models including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Linear Regression.

Main Results:

The Random Forest model demonstrated the highest accuracy in predicting weather parameters from tree temperature data.
An error rate of 6.60% was achieved over a continuous 47-day monitoring period.
