Pleural effusion (PE) in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) patients is common in males and often unilateral. This condition indicates a poor prognosis and is linked to increased mortality in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.
