Instrument separation during endodontic therapy can impede root canal disinfection. A loop technique successfully retrieved separated instruments in four cases, proving to be a reliable and safe retrieval method.
Area of Science:
- Dentistry
- Endodontics
- Dental Materials
Background:
- Iatrogenic errors, such as instrument separation, are common challenges in endodontic practice.
- Separated instruments can compromise root canal disinfection and treatment outcomes.
- Management options include retrieval (orthograde or surgical) or bypassing the fragment.
