Phase Change Materials for Energy Storage Applications In Human Health Management

Abstract:
In recent years, phase change materials (PCMs) have attracted increasing attention in the field of human thermal comfort and health management due to their outstanding heat storage and temperature regulation properties. In the aspect of temperature regulation for wound dressings, PCMs can control the temperature fluctuation range, creating an ideal environment for wound healing and significantly accelerating the healing process. When applied in the thermal management of medical protective clothing, they can effectively enhance the internal microenvironment and significantly enhance the thermal comfort experience of medical staff. It is noteworthy that recent reviews have predominantly focused on enhancing the thermal conductivity of materials. This study bridges the gap by integrating technical pathways with practical application bottlenecks, thereby addressing an analytical void in the field of personal health management. This paper comprehensively reviews the applications of PCMs in wound dressing temperature regulation, cold chain stability assurance, medical protective clothing thermal management, and multifunctional wearable devices, and thoroughly analyses the current development status. It actively explores the future expansion direction, aiming to provide key ideas and practical solutions for the innovative design of multifunctional smart textiles and high-performance personal protective equipment.
