Our previous research found that due to the regulatory effect of impurity atoms, the separate doping of cationic aluminum (Al) and anionic phosphorus (P) markedly enhanced the electrochemical performance of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) electrodes. Built upon the aforementioned ongoing research, this paper further employs a one-step hydrothermal method to achieve a cation-anion co-doped molybdenum disulfide electrode (Aluminum/Phosphorus-MoS2@Carbon Cloth). The results indicate that the cation-anion co-doped electrode exhibits higher electrochemical activity compared to single-ion-doped electrodes, with conductivity increasing from 0.0015 ± 0.0001 S cm-1 to 0.0228 ± 0.0002 S cm-1, and capacitance increasing from 424.6 ± 4.5 F g-1 to 583.0 ± 4.5 F g-1 (0.5 A g-1). Such excellent properties are primarily due to the co-doping of Al/P, which fully utilizes their advantages to exert an efficient synergistic effect, thereby enhancing the ion diffusion rate and active sites of MoS2. Furthermore, this electrode was adopted to assemble an asymmetric supercapacitor, which features a voltage window of 1.7 V, an energy density of 36.4 ± 1.2 Wh kg-1, and high cycle stability of 98.12 % (8000 cycles). This lays the foundation for research on transition metal sulfide energy storage devices.
