Staphylococcal early-onset prosthetic valve endocarditis: a condition bound for surgery.

Staphylococcus aureus prosthetic valve endocarditis (SAPVE) significantly increases early-onset prosthetic valve endocarditis mortality. Prosthetic valve replacement improves survival, with most non-operated SAPVE patients dying from septic shock.
