Design and simulation verification of a satellite-borne spatial heterodyne hyperspectral imager

In environmental and agricultural hyperspectral applications, there is a need for hyperspectral equipment that simultaneously provides both high spectral resolution and high spatial resolution. This paper proposes a spaceborne spatial heterodyne hyperspectral imager, which establishes a complete hyperspectral data cube through line push-broom scanning. Theoretical formulas are derived, and a simulation design example is presented. The simulation results show that its spectral resolution is better than 0.02 nm, and the spatial resolution reaches 3 mrad. This design has promising prospects in hyperspectral applications.
