Chromosome-level genome assembly of Trichogramma ostriniae Pang & Chen (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae)

Abstract:
Trichogramma ostriniae (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) is an important biological control agent that is effective against the Asian corn borer Ostrinia furnacalis. In this study, we present a chromosome-scale genome assembly of T. ostriniae. By integrating PacBio long-read sequencing and Hi-C scaffolding techniques, we constructed a genome assembly of 221.86 Mb. Approximately 93.14% of the assembly was successfully anchored onto 5 chromosomes, with contig and scaffold N50 values reaching 12.42 Mb and 39.71 Mb, respectively. The genome completeness, as evaluated by BUSCO, achieved a completeness score of 98.3%. Additionally, a total of 12,707 protein-coding genes were identified. In conclusion, this high-quality genome assembly of T. ostriniae serves as a valuable genomic resource, providing insights into the evolution of parasitoid diversity and enhancing the application of parasitoid wasps in biological control.
