Abstract:
Acute kidney injury (AKI) following lung transplantation is a significant complication that affects postoperative outcomes and survival rates among patients. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the mechanisms underlying the occurrence of AKI post-lung transplantation, identifies key risk factors, and discusses various predictive models that have been developed in this field. Moreover, we explore comprehensive preventive strategies and management approaches that are crucial for optimizing patient care. By analyzing relevant literature, we aim to highlight the importance of early recognition and intervention to improve postoperative results for lung transplant recipients. This synthesis of current knowledge not only serves to inform clinical practice but also underscores the need for continued research in this critical area.
