Abstract:
The frequent outbreak of emerging infectious diseases is a major challenge facing global public health. Strengthening the construction of public health systems and enhancing the ability to respond to biosafety crises is a crucial guarantee and urgent task for implementing national security strategies and social development in the new era. The concept of public health and talent development needs major changes. Epidemiology is the theoretical foundation of public health and the methodology guiding practice. By deeply reforming epidemiology teaching to incorporate ideological concepts and technical methods, the ability of public health talents to respond to biosafety crises can be enhanced. Although the concept of One Health is in a period of ongoing development, its innovation, scientificity, and application prospects in the management of emerging infectious diseases, such as certain zoonotic diseases, have already emerged. In the cultivation of talents in universities, strengthening the teaching of infectious disease epidemiology, particularly the prevention and control strategies and measures for newly emerging infectious diseases, implementing the One Health concept, are teaching reform paths worth exploring and practicing to improve the public health system's ability to respond to biosafety crises.
