Summary

Persistent visual distortion after cataract surgery may indicate lasting photoreceptor damage, even when optical coherence tomography (OCT) shows recovery. Adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) can reveal subtle damage not seen on OCT.
