Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the treatment response of Achilles tendinitis to prolotherapy.
  • To determine the efficacy of regenerative injection therapy in patients with Achilles tendinopathy.

  • Retrospective review of 132 participants with non-traumatic Achilles tendinopathy from 2014-2017.

Conclusions:

  • Prolotherapy demonstrated excellent results for Achilles tendinitis, especially in patients without skeletal deformities.
  • No adverse events were reported during the 12-month study period.
  • Further prospective, randomized controlled studies are recommended to confirm prolotherapy's efficacy.
